LFA mini documentary

While most have read about the Lexus supercar, few ever had the chance to see one. The best chance of seeing one of these super rare, limited production cars will be at any upcoming auto show. The reason? Well, let’s have Lexus explain the design and production story about how this car was born. Oh and because the base price for one of these will start at US $375,000.

However, should you get your hands on one and seemingly you wanted to enjoy the beauty and performance of this car owners should opt for the LFA Nurburgring Package. This special package does increase the price dramatically to US $465,000 but its worth every penny.

With the updated price owners will receive several carbon fiber reinforced plastic fins and spoilers to help increase high speed downforce. A large front spoiler, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a fixed rear wing all differ from the standard LFA.

The car’s ride height is dropped 10 mm and the suspension has been fine tuned for even more on-track precision. A set of exclusive mesh wheels are wrapped in high performance tires unique to the LFA Nürburgring Edition.

The LFA’s 4.8-liter V10 has been massaged for an additional 10 horsepower, bringing the total to 562hp. Lexus says that the change was made to ensure that the car could still hit 62 mph in 3.7 seconds despite the additional downforce and drag. The standard six-speed sequential transmission still fires off shifts in just 0.15 seconds.

Colors for this masterpiece will be offered in matte black, white, black or orange. Interiors will be available in red, black and purple or a business-like all black. European customers will get carbon fiber sports seats covered in Alcantara as well as carbon fiber center console and door covers that replace the leather and Alcantara units used in standard LFAs. Now feast your eyes  and drool.
